Prior to January 1, 2010 trainees were not allowed to claim hours in the category of "administering and evaluating psychological tests, writing clinical reports and progress and process notes" (refereed to as the category of "Progress Notes" for the remainder of this post). Historically TrackYourHours has not provided an alert or subtracted hours from the valid total because these hours are typically not even entered into TYH because they can’t be claimed. A small number of subscribers have mistakenly logged hours in this category. A new rule and alert was added to the software on Monday, April 15. Going forward, Progress and Process hours that were logged prior to January 1, 2010 under the status of trainee or trainee in practicum (pre-degree) will be excluded from the valid total calculation. If you logged hours that meet the aforementioned criteria, you will see an alert on your account and your valid total may decrease after the update. This update does not have any impact on the hours included on Weekly Logs or Experience Verification Forms because the forms are populated with recorded hours and the totals on the reports will be identical pre- and post-update. If you have any questions please submit a ticket to the Help Desk so we can discuss your individual circumstances.
How can I determine if I will be impacted by this update?
If you logged Progress and Process notes hours in pre-degree status prior to January 1, 2010 you will now see an alert on your account and these hours will be subtracted from your valid total.
How will this update impact my recorded hour total?
Recorded hours are the hours exactly as you enter them. This update does not have any impact on the number of recorded hours reflected in your account.
How will this update impact my reports?
All reports generated by TYH are populated with recorded hours (all hours logged are reported to the BBS so they can determine which hours should count). This update does not have any impact on your weekly logs or Experience Verification Forms. Reports generated prior to the update will look identical to reports generated after the update.
